Opera 6.02 Preview 2 for Linux build 183 -- Changelog

For the first time, Opera releases public previews of Opera for Linux and full changelogs. These previews have not been tested as much as they would have been if they had been official releases. They have only been announced to some Opera newsgroups and mailing lists. Don't forget Backing up important files before you install any update.

CHANGELOG

• Support for configurable keyboard shortcuts from UI.
• Fixed problems with the commandline parsing. The "opera <page>" command did not work and there were problems when Opera was started with this command (worked better when Opera was already running).
• Fixed a problem with the "Active bookmark" popup menu on the mainbar. It was lost when the button file was changed.
• The Alt+Space activated search entry will now respect the "Reuse window setting" and also open in a new window or in the background if Shift or Ctrl+Shift is pressed when the search is activated
• Fixed a problem that cause the cookie pref box page to always display that cookies were enabled even though they could be disabled. The bug was introduced before 6.02 P1 as a result of that we wanted to make it possible to restore default settings.
• Fixed a focus problem. When a document had finished loading the focus would be moved to the document even if a popup menu was visible. Focus is no longer moved.
• Fixed a CSS syntax error and a missing end tag in the HTML code that is written when saving bookmarks as HTML.
• Fixed a bug so that the window arrow popup menu is limited in width in the same manner as the bookmark popup menu
• Support for cancelling a gesture (press escape while recording the gesture)
• Fixed a dialog parent issue that caused unwanted flicker in fullscreen mode when a search failed (WM dependant)
• Fixed a problem that caused the font-region strings (international fonts) not to be displayed as translated strings.
• Fixed a problem that caused the shown Workspace Button Style not to be the same as selected in the "Style" page of the preference dialog box.
• Scrollbars have been activated in panels (shown when needed).
• Support for gestures inside the transfer window.
• Support for gestures inside the hotlist window.
• Support for Right Mouse Button+Wheel navigation everywhere.
• Fixed a Ctrl+Mouse selection problem in the hotlist. It was possible to enter a mode where items were selected by pressing the Ctrl button without clicking the left mouse button.
• Restore "opera.win" as window save file if the "Windows Storage File=" statement is empty in opera6.ini This will avoid confusion.
• When checking "Save windows and show next time" in the exit box, do NOT change the startup mode to something else if it is already "Continue browsing where I was last time" This will avoid confusion.
• Bypassed a Qt problem that caused non-sensitive pixmaps to increase by one pixel in width and height. This could cause annoying pixmap movement on the toolbar when switching windows.
• "Validate frame" will now always open the validator in a new window.
• "Menufocus On Alt Release" pref setting now works in the help window as well.
• Fixed (well, Martin Schrode more or less told me how) a help path corruption problem that would occur when using a translation after saving path and application data from the pref box.
• Proper default value for "Server error response handling" on Network pref page.
• Fixed a wrong default value for "Empty on exit" (disk cache). It was set to empty the cache, now it does not.
• Support for reconfiguring panel documents when changes are done in pref dialog box.
• Removed libXmu library dependence
